CV for Debby Cataldo
Clinical Consultants for Long Term Care
Philosophy
The primary focus of my nursing experience has been in the field of long term care. I have managed many challenging residents in a wide spectrum of care. As an RN Care Manager I have been responsible for the oversight of all aspects of resident care. The holistic approach of resident care management has enhanced the healing and improved the maintenance of residents in some of the following areas; pain management, identification and assessment of acute processes, skilled levels of care post hospitalization, pressure ulcer management, antipsychotropic medications, restraint reduction and safety. My education and training in the RAI process, PPS system and as a Director of Nursing Services has also enabled me to assume responsibility to train other RNs and members of the Interdisciplinary Team to improve resident care. My work as a Clinical Consultant has been focused on educating facilities in an approach of utilizing the RN Care Manager model and the use of the RAI to improve the total quality of resident care. As a member of the Temporary Manager/Receiver team I have assisted facilities taken over by the State of California to return to substantial compliance or closure. I have used my experiences to train facility staff in the RAI to return to substantial compliance and to coordinate the nursing requirements to safely prepare residents for transfer and discharge and prevent resident transfer trauma during the process.
